Graphics packages can be defined as computer software programs used to create, edit, and manage images or drawings on a computer.


Examples of Graphics Packages: Microsoft Paint ,Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, GIMP



The purposes of graphics packages are

  1. To create and design images and drawings easily on a computer.

  2. To edit and improve pictures by adding colors, shapes, and text.

  3. To help users make art, logos, posters, and animations.

  4. To allow users to save and share their designs in different formats.

  5. To enable users to print their designs for school projects or work.

  6. To assist in making presentations more attractive with images and graphics.


Types of Graphics


  1. Bitmap Graphics: Made of tiny dots called pixels (e.g., photos).

  2. Vector Graphics: Made of lines and shapes that can be resized without losing quality
