Living thing:

What is living thing?

A living thing, or organism, can be define as any entity that has life. Examples: Humans,Trees,Bacteria,Mushrooms etc





PROPERTIES OF LIVING THING


  • M - Movement: Living things can move, either by changing location or moving parts of their body.

  • R - Respiration: They can break down food to release energy.

  • N - Nutrition: They need food to provide energy and materials for growth and repair.

  • I - Irritability (Response to stimuli): They can respond to changes in their environment.

  • G - Growth: Living things grow and develop over time.

  • E - Excretion: They can remove waste products from their bodies.

  • R - Reproduction: They can produce new individuals of the same species.

  • D - Development: They undergo changes throughout their life cycle.




  • USES OF LIVING THINGS


    1. Living things provide food for humans and animals.

    2. Plants produce oxygen needed for breathing.

    3. Trees give wood for building and making items.

    4. They help keep the environment balanced.

    5. Medicines are made from plants and animals.

    6. Animals and plants support human survival.



    Non-Living thing:


    What is Non-living thing?

    a non-living thing can be define as an object or material that does not have life . Examples: Rocks,Water,Air,Table etc .





    PROPERTIES OF NON-LIVING THING


    1. They do not increase in size or change over time on their own.

    2. They do not consume food or produce energy.

    3. They cannot produce offspring or make more of themselves (No Reproduction).

    4. They do not react to changes in their environment.

    5. They cannot move on their own.

    6. They are not made up of cells.

    7. They do not adapt to their environment over time.




    USES OF NON-LIVING THINGS


    1. Non-living things are used for building shelters.

    2. They are tools for transportation like cars.

    3. They store and protect food and water.

    4. Machines help with work and productivity.

    5. Non-living things create energy, like fuel.

    6. They are materials for clothing and crafting.
